Turn of the Decade

I figured, why make a super long FB status when I can just write on my blog?
Bruh, that is genius.
....And I hope it won't be that long.
Professionally, it has been an interesting year. I left my job that I had held for 3.5 years for another opportunity to work on government contract roles. Come to find out six months in, we would soon be losing the contract. Screwed, I decided to start looking again after just going through a job search six months earlier. I freshened up my resume, had two interviews in two weeks and accepted an offer I couldn't refuse. I'm now working in a creative digital space, which is new for me, but I've found myself a happy home.
Personally, my highlights include:
Introducing my nephew, Theodore (or as my mom says Theodorable), into our crazy family.
First full year being a homeowner. And I've yet to make a late payment.
Vacations to sunny places including Vegas in January for one of my friend's 30th birthday, Arizona in the spring and LA for a friend's wedding in September.
Discovering alternative methods to heal my body including acupuncture, cupping and still sticking with chiropractic care for knee pain.
What does next year hold? (Or need resolving, or whatever):
Going to New York (sorry Boston, just a long wedding weekend for us).
Running a lot. Thanks, Brittany Runs a Marathon for the inspiration again. Although probably not a marathon, TBH.
Planning on networking more and getting out of my comfort zone, build my personal and professional development.
Excited to see my nephew walk soon as well as my niece graduate high school.
Fingers crossed, a trip to Hawaii to see visit my family.
Unfortunately, due to my current health issues, this year may be a more sober one. Not saying completely, but I'm letting my partying pants hang to dry for awhile.
Helping others in whatever capacity God calls me to.
....And maybe working on my pirate mouth.
Writing more, flexing my creativity muscles more.
Happy New Year!
