The Art of Throwing a Decent Party

I have to say, I'm impressed with myself. Truly.

I threw a housewarming, birthday, holiday party rolled into one. You heard that right a three in one; a threefer. And I am pretty sure it was a success.

Alcohol

Honestly, beer, wine and a signature cocktail. Boom.

Food

It's kind of like bridal - something blue, something old, something new.

Except something warm, something you can eat with your fingers and something you can dip.

Also, who doesn't want a decent charcuterie board?

Where to shop?

Grocery Outlet for beer and wine. Honestly, it's like a robbery how much you save.

Trader Joe's for warm up appetizers. My mistake? Not getting enough.

My parents- well my mom wanted to make a spinach dip, so I kindly let her. When people offer to help, take them up on it.

Music

Is there anything wrong with songs like "Back that ass up", "Baby I got your Money" and "Big Pimpin"? Other than misogynistic undertones, no. And you can play Spice Girls too. Also, I turned on my Spotify on my way to work on Monday morning and Ricky Martin "She Bang" was playing. Yikes...Maybe too much tequila in the Cranberry Margaritas.

Theme

Who doesn't like Christmas stuff? Oh wait, The Grinch. Which he is not invited, He knows what he did!

But good to keep decor on the fun side. I love Christmas lights. Lights in general.

Overall

Incredibly grateful for my friends and family who helped me celebrate turning the milestone 31. It's one of those birthdays that live in infamy. It was a good excuse to see everyone during the holiday season. I know everyone gets busy and it's truly a season to revel in the good times. That and celebrating buying a house, because that is something worth celebrating, indeed.
