If This Is It

It's the first day of fall which encourages us to turn over a new leaf. For me, fall always feels like the New Year. Summer always feel like your time to relax after a hard year spent, it's the fruits of our labors to enjoy sunshine and fun. Fall is the end of the bonfires, beach trips and vacation, it's time to get back in the saddle and heighten our focus.

For me, it's time to get back into my passion.... Which is blogging about everything and nothing at all. My hope is this new site will be more specific and a go to resource for folks in their 30's but also for a laugh, advice or maybe videos of my cat, Lola. Who knows.

Re-introduction of myself because to the core I am the same Rachel because I'm like OxiClean and I think I'm new and improved every few years:

I'm 30 years old and live in Portland, Oregon. I'm born and raised in Oregon and love it. I left for Boston and met my husband and dragged him back here. He likes it here, too.

I'm a secular and imperfect Christian, a staffing consultant, brand ambassador, a sounding board, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cat meowmy. In my limited free time, I enjoy hiking, running, comedy, singing bad karaoke with my friends and eating my mom's home cooked meals with my big family. My words are seldom sugar coated, my thoughts on life are real and I'm a direct communicator with a touch of humor.

I had a WordPress account for many years but lately the site hasn't been meeting my needs, specifically many technical problems. My heart hadn't been in it either. I thought entering a new decade in my life may be a reason to start anew.
